Animation & Drawing Bugs

Twice now I’ve been bitten by the same genus of bug with iPhone implicit animations.  Instead of trying to memorize all of the minute and changing details about each bug, I’ve reduced it to a simple, if broad, praxis:

When your UIKit views draw funny, the first suspect is any animation code operating on those views or their superviews.

Biggest Sandworm Ever

What is a sandworm, you ask?  And how does it relate to Falesafe?  Well, a sandworm is a nasty fanged invertebrate which is an excellent bait for any number of the fish you’ll find in our It’s a Keeper series of iPhone applications, including striped bass, porgy, fluke, blackfish, and flounder.

Today I stumbled across the daddy of all sandworms:

A 4-foot-long giant sea worm has been discovered at an aquarium in the U.K. Workers at Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium unearthed the creature while they were trying to figure out what was attacking a coral reef and prize fish…

Who needs a Time Capsule?

I just updated my ReadNAS NV+ to the latest beta firmware and there is now a Time Machine tab built-in for super simple configuration.  Awesome.
